common problem? starter short

do you guys usually get a short in the starter? like the dealer tells me its from a pressure washer. the minute i turn the key the starter starts cranking and still does once its running. i do not ride it like this. but this happened to my 300ex i had too. what the heck?!

start it and whack it with a rubber blow hammer and see if it will disengage that mechanism in there, not a metal hammer, you will crack the starter case. um if that dont work get a new whatever and fix it. cant cost to much unless you have dealer put it on, do the work yourself and its much more satisfying, especialy when you figure something out.
