ok, need alittle help. im planning on running the woods, i have a Durable X33 and my front end in 49 inches compressed with 3 by 2's so i would only be at 46 47ish with 4-1's right? thats still too wide for the woods...

also im 6'0 would a +1 or a +2 stem work better then the stock length? also do they bend easyer?

is there any way of telling if there is a stroker crank or a BB piston in there with out takin the motor all apart?

also
why would the motor kill if i dont rev the motor a little before i put it in gear?

thanks

I dont think 46 or 47 is too wide. At least not for the local tracks here, some of which get pretty tight. I run 48 w/ no problems.

Aftermarket stems are stronger than stock imo. Ive bent a few stockers on diff bikes including my R. Had some good rolls on houser and lsr and still straight :D

Your gonna have to at least take the head and cylinder off, maybe just the head with some ingenuity lol.

My guess on the stalling is clutch out of adjustment or clutch basket grooving

I ran about a 46" front and it did pretty well. Starting with a 49" front, you'll end up with 47" with 4-1 wheels, which you could probably get away with for most things. I think even the GNCC's are set up wider these days. If not, then you'll have to buy a-arms and with +1's you'll have to run the 4-1 wheels anyway to get 46".

I'm 6'2" and have a +1 stem with Renthal Jimmy Button bend bars. I'm fairly comfortable. I wonder if a +2 would be better, but I'm not in a hurry to try it. What did me the most good was to "pro-peg" the foot pegs and get them down an inch. Still not low enough for my legs, but better than stock.

I have a Leager pro trax with narrow frame running plus 3s and 4-1 hipers. It comes in at 47.5 inches wide and it works well even at the gnccs. Its a little tight sometimes but it will do. I think the tracks are running a little wider these days because of the utes and the huge number of racers that are coming out these days to try and keep the number of bottlenecks down.

I am 6.5 and have a std length stem with cr high bend bars and lowered pegs and that to works fine. Its just all in what you get used to.

I agree that your clutch basket probably has grooves in it.If it does you can take a flat file and work on it a bit and this will help untill you can get a new basket.

Just take the motor apart. because if you dont know what parts are in there then you probably need to freshen it up anyway and then you can see exactly whats in there.

Definately dont want to reuse the gaskets. They dont cost much.

you could check stroke easy enough with a probe through the spark plug hole. stock is 72mm

always go with new gaskets and copper washers when you take the head off.
