???????? buy a steering dampner? because you have a bent tie rod?
All you have to do is go to you dealer and buy a new tierod...they are cheap and easy to fix.
A steering dampner won't fix your bent tierod.

Hey
There is a guy who sells anodized and stainless steel tie rods on ebay and on the website www.sharkracing.biz There great products. As far as steering goes I got a steering stablizer and im happy with it.

lol thats a decent bend you should have seen mine crashind into a ditch 2nd gear pinned in a wheelie the front left wheele hit first and gave the rod a 3 1/2 inch bend in it. then i had to drive it about 3/4 mile home in 1st gear lolthe wheeles were pointing at eachother but hey its all good just brought it home and then but it in a vice and straightened it out and its as good as new havent had any problems since

JMO but four bucks for a tie rod aint to shabby. I like the idea of it being the weak link. It is the cheapest part to replace. If you make it too beafy something else is going to take the damage, like the ball joint or the hub or the spindle. Just replace it with a stocker and get one or two extras for the tool box their cheap.

I agree with Soggy. You want a weal link and for 4-6 bucks you can't beat that replacement cost. Alot better than buying a new spindle. I was on a roll bending tie rods this past season. The most important thing that I learned is DO NOT try to straighten it out and then rely on it in a race. Cost me a win by doing just that. And for a couple bucks it was just senseless. I'll try to post a pic of one of my bent tie rods.

btw-the pic is after the race and I had to hammer the sh*t out of it with a rock to finish the race. In fact I ended up finishing 5th.

honda already has the solution, 86-89 250r tie rods you can still buy them from honda for about $22 a piece or e-bay, alot of 250r's get striped and parted out
i have never bent one yet !!!!!!!

bean-maybe u should atleast bend it back fab your own tie rod or something...cause just having your bike tuned in and properly set up can mean alot in racing...once a tie rod has a little bend in it..it wont take but a small hit and then it will bend easier than before

i have been using the 250r tie rods on my 300ex, i have the 400ex front end so that they also fit right. What i have heard is that u shouldn run the 250r rods on a 400ex because the spindel is aluminum and it will bend before the tie rods.
