It usually takes a long time for the fan to turn on, but haven't had a problem with mine.

Only thing so far is the battery cables breaking.

Mine has been trouble free, but my team mate's had the brokenbattery cable connector.
Five minutes of panic until we noticed it, LOL.

Breaking basically right where they connect to the battery. The little connectors are tiny and have bends in them. Just go buy something beefier and straight along with some heavier wire. Both chunks of wire are fairly short.

Exactly.
And you should do it before it breaks, especially if you're racing.

these quads are great, but if you ever start to leak coolant. it your water pump they have issue with some models. only problem ive had so far

Only other thing I haven't totally figured out a solution for yet is the radiator. For some reason it seems to be very unprotected and a lot of rocks get to it. Ive gotten holes in two different radiators from racing in rocky areas and getting roost.
Im working on riveting some kind of metal screen to the existing plastic one.

take a furnace filter...the blue ones...and cut them to the shape...mines similar to a "T" and it just slides in place...and air can still flow through it due to it being a "filter"...simple and CHEAP, especially for GNCC racers...and i just woods ride...

I made this out of a Honda 450R's stock gaurd. Woulda been perfect if it had 1 more fin. Oh well, its better than it was. I was getting alot of rocks up in there.

Sounds cheap,is cheap and I wouldn't count on that filter doing much for the longevity of my motor?Good luck!

the filter is for PROTECTION of the radiator...the engine ice in the radiator is what keeps the motor cools...along with "air cooled"...a motor has longevity either way you look at it as long as you CHANGE THE OIL...and clean the air filter...

Sorry I stand corrected.Thought you were talking about using the material for an air filter.I must have confused the post with another post about air filters.
Now that I understand that is a great idea! Thanks for the tip.
