BRP should be paying for your stator and flywheel. It was caused by a recalled part that was on back order. My fly wheel bolts took almost 3 months to get.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does this recall prevent from happening exactly? It doesn't look like the squeeky clutch?

if you have an 08 ds model, the flywheel bolts, they get loose an eventually brake, then they fall in to the stator , you to your local dealer and ask them to replace them or go and get some forged bolts and replace them your self

Stupid Question but how hard is to get to these bolts dont you just pull the right hand side motor cover and there they are???

is it the 5 sprag bolt who get loose or it's the 3 stator retaining screws?

Yeah you pull the cover and there they are...has nothing to do with the stator screws. 6 sprag clutch screws not long enough nor torqued right from the OEM cause this. S/b loctite in might need a heat gun to get em undone. Need a oil pan, remove all the old gasket w/non-ferrous metal cleaner. You don't need to take the rotor off so you won't need a puller...just replace the screws with the right ones.

Need a new cover gasket too. Use loctite on stator cable grommet, tighten screws in a staggered sequence torque per bulletin.....Top engine w/oil.
