does anyone know if i can make a right side cover off a xr400 work on a 400ex. i know i will have to have the kick starter hole welded up, but besides that is there any difference. i would like to take advantage of the removable clutch cover. any thoughts????????

I think I read somewhere that hinson made one for the 400ex also. Don't quote me on that but maybe. Otherwise whereever I saw it they just had the xr side cover with the hinson quick cover. I don't know for sure. Someone has to know though. Steve

you just did the xr motor conversion right dropped? Did you get everything working with the kicker or did you seal it off? I know sand was wondering. Steve

i did not use the kicker. i took it to a machine shop and they made me a billet block off for it. i kinda wish i would have done the kicker conversion, i keep tearing one way bearings out with the compression im running.
