My 400 has been burning a lot of oil and smoking a lot lately, so i decides i want to do a top end rebuild.

The only things i need are a piston, rings, gaskets/seals correct?

Do i need to hone the cylinder out?

Is this all i need?
piston (http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&navTitle=Engine&webTypeId=201&webCatId=17&allVehParts=true&prodFamilyId=3784#vehicleSelect)
gaskets/seals (http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&navTitle=Engine&webTypeId=202&webCatId=17&allVehParts=true&prodFamilyId=3146#vehicleSelect)

Dose that come with the valve seals?

If your burning alot of oil, you won't know what shape your cylinder is in, till you take it apart. You might need a bigger piston. You will probably have to bore the cylinder and the machinist should have the piston in hand when that is done.

You could be burning oil do to the valve seals also.

id bore it out to a 406 just to be safe.you might want to throw in a new timing chain too

I would first take it apart and look at what I have. It could be as simple as adjusting the valves to a whole re build. Need to know what ya have before really telling you what you should buy. So strip her down and see how bad it really is.

i recommend factory oil seals the ones in those kits are crap and will go bad in a year or two.
