That is very normal with the 450's. There's no need to be concerned. I have a dasa pipe and burn my pants all the time. One thing you could do it wrap it in heat tape.

Whew!!!

I've seen them red, but never like that.

Someone said the stock header would do that because it's titanium?

^^ yeap. the titanium header gives nice flow and looks great but it gives off less heat. perfectly normal. i worried the same way as you when i first got mine :p

yeah that normal. the stock headpipe it titanium which is a thinner metal so it will glow more then a regular pipe would.

yea id agree with them its normal (esp with the choke on) and when idleing for a good 8-9 minutes does ur exhaust steam at the header because mine does

Is it really a choke?... or just a high idle setting?

OK... so you could just leave it pulled out if you wanted?

I was out riding today and started to try it...

hey mine did that when i first bought it and it still does it every once in awhile but with the choke i pull it while i am crusing every once in awhile it works like cruise control so i dont have to wear my thumb out lol its never hurt any thing

I've found out through time, other issues, and a trip to the dealer.... that the above is EXCESSIVE on the red glowing.

Take that for what it is worth, because it could well just be a bad picture illustration on my part and look OK to you guys.

My quad had issues... probably a connection somewhere... and it was probably reading a bad signal from a sensor somewhere.

This thing got very hot... and I had some run issues so I knew something was wrong... and I was not getting any codes... so I just did not ride it very much.

According to the difference my leg tells me it feels NOW, I am very glad I did not ride it much, because I would have surely burned it down.

The computer had the air/fuel or the timing or both off I think.

It's much cooler on my leg now and it's not getting as red as it was... just a little glow at idle or low speed.
