went under water.. what to do?

and my 400ex was in the garage. how do i go about getting it running again?

As long as the air box and exhaust didnt take in water it will be fine. May want to check the bearings out in a bit but other than that just get it outta there and get it outta that crap. If you know it took in water than drain all your oil, pull carb apart and drain to make sure no water in there, drain the air box clean and dry out air filter. When you drain the oil check to see if there is water in there and you will be able to tell. If so you could open the motor up a little bit to dry it out. Really not that big of deal as long as you didnt run it. Pain in the A** and inconvienient but thats about it. The water in the pics not sure if thats the peak of the level but if it was in your garage I wouldnt think it got high enough to get inside.

This is common since but figured I would add that dont try to turn over or start because of the electrical it could lead to all kinds of problems. Take an air gun or compressed air can and blow out all your leads or any plug or if you have an tether before starting. Check the fuse holder/carrier and blow that out.

sorry to hear bout yout home being flooded. for the bike, dont even roll it til you make sure water did not get in the cylinder. drain all fluids like "matt" said, and compressed air on whole quad is a great idea.

wow thats crazy man, hope everybody is ok, im sure your 400 will start but before you attempt to start it i would remove the spark plug just incase there is water in the cylinder so it doesent hydrolock

haha yea that wasnt the peak of the flood. the whole quad got submerged but i guess this is a good time to invest in a 450 carb lol

Not to be a d!ck but did you build your home at the bottom of a river bed? Must be right next to a river or something for the water to get that high.

There has been an incredible amount of flooding this year...looks like he got lucky, we had houses that nice floating down the rivers and getting slammed into bridges. How bad was it in Washington?

haha i didnt build the house im renting it but the river is 2 and a half acres away from the house and this is the first time it has ever reached the house since it was built in 98. flooding this year has been insanely bad!

i got a few pictures from where i live when the levies busted last summer there were three roads out of the town and they were all flooded

here is the 150 year old cannon ball bridge we use every day and the water was a foot over the bottom boards, and you can look up the bridge cause its on the list of the most haunted places in the world.

most of the people in this town work in vincensse indiana on the other side so about 600 cars back and forth every day and yes you can fit a semi on it, they drive it every day.
