Any airfilter/intake will allow dirt to pass if not maintained properly. (especially if you use a K&N style filter) Dirty throttle bodies are now part of our sport....
This is an LTR...

actually i am kinda of a clean freak with my airfilters. i was surprised to find it was that dirty, same with hmfDS450...

damn thats crazy I have a K&N and I have yet to have a problem and its gone through water, mud, sand, and loads of dust. My outerwear catches so much you take off the seat and gasp then pull it back and the filter looks brand new. Pull it off and the intake boot is shiny clean.

Ive got the fuel atv intake on my ltr it has a k&n style filter and man i love it. I will never go back to a foam filter again. it makes a tighter seal, is easier to clean, last longer, cant be happier with it. Clean it after every ride and you will never have a problem.

That just goes to prove why K&N cost more. It may be for name but it deffinately seems like quality too. Not all gauze filters are equal just like foam.

ds450racer, did you replace youres?

drew, thats also because the Fuel filter is an 8ply, the velocity's are a whimpy 4ply.

Oh, I forgot to mention that that filter wasn't mine. I'm a mod on another site and someone sent that picture to me.
