Timing Chain and What Else?

Okay guys here's the deal, my engine's been ticking for a month or two now and pretty sure it's the timing chain. This will be replaced when I get back from Italy over spring break and I get my tax return back. So far the engine is completely stock to the best of my knowledge, bought it from a dealer used with about 25 hours on it, had been rolled once.

So far I plan on getting the timing chain, heard CRF 450 timing chain is what to go with?
Anything else while I'm at it? I don't race this quad, at least not legally (street lights sometimes) as I mostly use it in town getting to class and on trails in the summer.

What are a few cheaper easy mods that I might look into? I've heard of the Sparks Timing Key, maybe exhaust and intake?

I don't wanna go over $1000, but would be fine with doing 2-$400 worth of mods.

pipe it, uni filter it, jet it, sparks key,
depending on the pipe, im assuming you will go for a cheaper one, like an HMF, or Lexx. that will run you about 300-350. and it will be noticeably quicker.
