another transmission failed this time in an 09 motor. bought the motor new in september. third gear exploded any ideas or parts people have used that will last longer than one season. 3 transmissions in 2 years hurts the pocket book.

DRG can heat treat your tranny for you. MotoXperts also has some sort of tranny mod, not sure what it does though.

i was wondering what people are paying for tranny rebuild since the whole motor comes apart. if you dont mind posting it or pm ing me it would be much appreciated:)

sorry about the bad luck,the treated gears def seem to last longer tho:cool:

motoXperts does wicked tranny mods, they have done the one in my race bike, and it lasted 50 races, and i shift with out the clutch...awesome work! my motors there right now getting freshned up...and the new race bike i just bought off him is getting the same mod done now too :D....deffintly recommend toby, give him a call...hes a greeat guy! his motors rip to!!

Had ours done last year and is still working great - We were through 2 trannys in 2 years prior to this! This is from their website :

Tranny Mod............................................... .................................................. .................................................. .$120.00 out of motor
(stops bike from jumping out of gear while riding and causing damage/failure, a must modification for all years TRX450R) Call or email for more information...

toby's a resonable guy, hes just really swamped right now iwth motors cuz everyone wnats there motor intime for race season, give him a shout and see what he can do for ya

My motor is all tore down and after buying a good used tranny I'm sending it out to moto-experts tomorrow for their mod.
