Since I removed my airbox lid the front of my seat pops out of the slot that it slides into on the tank. I think the lid gave the center of the seat some support and now without it the seat gives a little in the center which is causing it to slip out of the slot. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you prevent it so I don't bust my ... ? Thanks in advance for the info...

I have the 525 irs without the lid for over a year now with no problems but maybe the 450 has issues with removing it

Maybe you should try one of those EHS air box lid filter kits. I have a 07 525 so I am not sure if they make one for yours....

I had the same problem on my 450 last year. Without the lid the seat bow's in the middle and pulls out of the slot in the front. I made a new button" washer" for the tank that extended father down into the seat and this fixed my problem.

Did u just use a bigger washer or something else to extend it down further???

I used a larger washer and then welded a 1/2" wide by 1" long piece of steel on the washer that extended farther into the seat. This worked great all season

I Just cut the Lid so that the only part that is left is just the middle where it supports the seat. I also cut out a half moon at the front side of the lid. The lid is almost nonexistant but has great support and did not need to mod my washer. It also gave me the ability to use duck tape in a mud race!
