18 inch tires with beadlocks

18x10x8. Beadlocks are usually ideal but if you dont have to cash get ITP Baja. Its a good trail and decent enough mx tire to get you buy until you could get some beadlocks.

perfect. i see the tires are decent priced and you guys are helping out great. so with the +2 a arms and extended axle plus the 18" rims/tires that would be a good start?

Get some itp mxr6 in 19" for the rear and some 20s or 21s for the front, that way you can ride trails or mx and have a nice small tire but also have a bit more ground clearence. My quad is set up for MX but i ride mostly trails and it works out great for me with the 18s. But 19s sound pretty good to me, if i were buying new tires thats prob what i would get.

i found some stock yfz450 rims and tires. the whole set for a good price. those rims the same bolt pattern as the 400ex or not?

yamaha rims do not match honda rims. no sense in getting stock yfz tires.. i believe they're the same size as stock ex tires. rims are basically the same except the bolt pattern as well.

^^^^
Those are not stock YFZ tires then, but the rims wont work b/c of bolt pattern. Find out what kind of tires they are.

theyre holeshots. the guy said they were stock and i know there not. im on a budget right now and the rims/tires are gonna be the last part for my setup.

The tires would be fine but the rims need to match the bolt pattern on the hubs. You need to find some wheels from a 450r, 250r, 400ex or even 300ex. Not sure what the bolt pattern is but it will be like 4-110 or something like that. Its like car wheels you cant put escalade wheels on a explorer.

yeah i know im actually looking for some rims right now. i have my stock rims mounted with new razrs. ill either sell the set or keep as a spare. thats why im searching for stock rims now. those things arent cheap!

Stock wheels actually cost more than aftermarket. Go with ITP or Douglass. You will want to smaller wheels than stock because the 18x8 tires help a ton in the corners and starts. You wouldnt almost believe the difference between those and a 9 inch wheel with the 20" tires.

wait...18x10-9 is the tire size i want. so a 8 inch rim will work on that? or both a 8 or 9. i know im asking a buttload of questions but i wanna get this stuff down packed so i wont overload the forum with threads again :)

hondas are 4/110 back and 4/144 front. i like my douglas .190s and my quadroks. the rocks are as thick as the stock ones but should be used with aftermarket lugs. The .190s are nice but I have dented one alittle but bent it back and it is good to go again. I would run a .125 for mx since they are light but I'm not sure if they hold real well since I have no experience, The 19" for the back would be a good choice and a 21" for the front 7' wide. I had 22x8 razrs and they are wide on a 5" rim. the 7" I have now are a nice width. They dig better. The width of machine will help alot and get some decent shocks so lands dont bottom you as easy. Otherwise not much else, I didnt remember what mods you have or if you have any listed while I typing os an exhaust and filter would be a good place to start there and go with a 416 11 or 12:1 comp if you can afford race gas with the 12:1. Otherwise good luck with the mx and check out other stuff done to machines in the pics sections to find out some more good ideas for mx. Steve

well currently the suspension is all stock and has a stage 2 jet kit along with a stock shorty muffler (which sounds awesome for $40), uni filter with air lid removed, and a revbox. my whole thing is not all mx. i ride trails more than anything right now and im looking into getting into mx soon. i just wanna prep it for both things ya know. im rebuilding the engine and throwing a hotcams stage 2 cam in it and a new clutch, and im replacing the rear carrier because its shot. oh yeah and im getting a new chain and sprocket set too. my stock is 14/38. any recommendations for mx and trails....my main thing right now is rims and tires. so what exact rim size can i use for the 18x10-9 rear tires and 20x6-10 front?
