What a great weekend in Georgia for racing.......sunny, 80 degrees, and no humidity !! Here's a few PICs of my son's first year in GNCC. Hope to get about 5 or 6 in this year. What a great race community and well organized event. My son even got Bill Ballance's autograph on his Ballance shirt !! He thought that was cool when Bill invited him in the trailer for the autograph.
Thanks to Marc at Hot Quads with the tuning advice earlier in the week, Zach was able to get 3rd on the holeshot and entered the woods a good bit ahead of 4th. Shortly there after though he hit a ditch hard and his hand hit the kill switch (which I've been thinking of removing for some time now) and he didn't realize it. He ended up flooding it out and it ended up being a 4 to 5 minute loss. Now he was dead last among all 64 riders (70cc through supermini).....aint that luck. He fought back hard and got 12th in his class (of 19) and 32 of 64 overall. Not a bad start.....we'll get that kill switch disabled next time !!!! We'll have to get bigger rear tires for those mud races. The Honda's with the huge rear tires had a big advantage through the mud holes which there were many deep mudholes.
