certified pain in da bottom

take valve cover off
check valves with a feeler guage
disassemble cams
take cups out witha magnet
pull shims out of cups
change shim
re-install cups
re-install cams
torque all bolts
check valves with a feeler
if there isn't enough clearence do it again

Do it yourself it isnt hard take your time use lots of zip lock baggys. Once you do it once you will be able to do it in your sleep. I reccomend you buy the HotCams shim kit it makes the whole job go alot quicker.

agreed......

if they are in spec. you don't have to
AND you forgot to mention unbolt the fuel pump or remove it, and release and reset the timing chain tensioner....
THEN
disassemble cams
take cups out witha magnet
pull shims out of cups
change shim
re-install cups
re-install cams
torque all bolts
check valves with a feeler
if there isn't enough clearence do it again

either way it's easy to me.....time consuming? a lil bit, hard? not really....
