My fiance bought me a pair of 450R that were revalved by GT Thunder for christmas, but my entire bike is tore down. Really anxious to try them out. Sorry that this post is worthless as far as how great the shocks are... She just likes me mentioning that I have them, lol

all right sounds good. how was the whole shipping process any problems or any thing like that

03-08-2009, 04:16 PM
save on shipping take the springs off. springs weigh a pretty good amount.

he is quick...turn around time was less than two full weeks each time i sent my shocks to him...

i have 450r revalves with a stock rear shock and link.It rides so much better than stock. i bought all the parts used peice by peice, and i have been trying to get them set up right just for me theyre pretty close but not perfect like i know they can be. Not trying to bad mouth them by any mean, but evertime i get into contact with some one at GTT via email, they wont reply after i tell them that the application is on a 400ex... i've been trying for three weeks now to get things going right, and i'm kinda getting bummed. I'm going to call them tommorow and sit down and try my best to get some answers.

SloCalduner - I had mine done back in december. GTT was exceptionally fast on the turn around time. My suggestion is go to their site and get all the correct information for the measurements.

Be absolutely sure of your tire size you intend to run on your quad along with what type of racing and your experience as well.

Believe it or not all the information you give them will help with the set-up. They take into account everything when setting them up. The leverage ratio, piston set-up, fluid amount, etc.

I ran stock 450R shocks for 2 years with a ex rear and did exceptionally well. Now with the GTT mods the difference is night and day.

If I had to do it all over again, I would probably get the HLS elites. They aren't that much more and I'm sure they are 2 times the shocks the modified 450R's are.

Just my opinion! Good luck!

I have the full GTT set up, 450r Rebuilt fronts with the rebuilt stock rear and the GTT link. My HLS's should be in today so i will be selling my rebuilds but i don't think you can get much better than what they do! I have had a few different aftermarket shocks and the rebuilds handled just as good if not better.

yes if you get the xc link you will have to cut the skidplate for it to fit...not a big deal just use an angle grinder......and the link is strong u wont break it!

my 450 rebuilds are just the standard piston. But my new HLS's have the high flow piston in them. I'm gonna get my first ride in on them this weekend at the Steele Creek GNCC in North Carolina.

I have ridden a quad with BossHogg420's shocks on it that were redone by GT Thunder and it was the BEST suspended, BAR NONE, 400EX I have ever ridden.

BossHogg420... nice suspension.. and wheels!!!! I'm jealous!!!

His shocks are the best peforming ones out there and the best price also.

Now that they are making HLS shocks it is about the same price just to get the HLS front shocks for the 400ex instead of buying 450r shocks and paying to get them revalved, resprung, and the travel mod and high flow pistons. the HLS come with all of that. Definitly get the high flow piston for the rear shock.

Agreed... unless your already own 450R shocks. If so, then have Laz rebuild them..

Yeah I heard great things from te HLS shocks. I got my 450r fronts for $125 shipped to my house so I think its still a little cheaper than buying the HLS Elite if I get them reworked.

How do you guys think his shocks compare to the Axis Dual Rates I have now?

hypersnyper6947
03-19-2009, 07:04 AM
axis are awesome shocks, if you wanted to get the max out of them have gtt rebuild them and get the high flo pistons in there

Dont waste money buying different schocks axis are great, spend the money on the revalving
