I am wanting to know if anyone has addressed the issue of the bike not starting in gear. I want the bike to start in gear with the clutch pulled in. Anyone find a way around that?

The same thing happened to mine. I found out the one of plugs were loose.

That's weird, mine starts IN gear with the clutch OUT!!! Thought that was kinda weird....

Actually, both of mine do, now that I think of it

More than likely you have a bad nuetral or clutch switch maybe a loose connector, not suppose to start clutch out.

ok, so it should start in gear by pulling the clutch in? That is what I am trying to accomplish. If I stall it in a corner, I don't want to be looking for neutral..:eek2:

Yes it should start in gear w/clutch in. I'm working on getting rid of that clutch and nuetral switch as soon as we get the quad back together, will let you know, and I want to get rid of the battery but noone makes a kicker for it yet!

Mine will start in gear clutch out maybe the 08s are different than the 09s

According to the 08 manual you got a fault if you can start in gear clutch out. See bottom right of page.

So Im guessing warranty work but for some reason I am skeptical of what that says the guy above says both his do it and mine does it so are they all three broken???????

I can't see why it needs to start in gear without the clutch pulled, that could be dangerous and harm the tranny/clutch. The nuetral and clutch switches go to engine ground when closed. If either are stuck closed quad starts all the time in gear it's bad. Jump starts bypass both go straght to the starter. Should jump start with a bad switches. You all should carry a 4- gage long jumper so can start this from your battery right to the starter or accross the starter solinoid under tha battery incase your in the middle of no where or on the starting line.

theres a sensor cable that runs from the clutch... follow it to where it plugs in and see if its loose... i replaces the clutch lever and deleted all of that... i just always start it in nuetral...

i dnt think theyll make a kick start for it... how would they with that frame design? make a pull start!! LOL

So if mine is starting with the clutch out which I obviously dont do...... Its not hurting anything besides being somewhat dangerous correct???
