i was just on the power comander site and it shows they have the PC V and the auto tune kit out for the KFX 450s but it only shows it under 2009. does that mean this wont work on a 08 ? i thought everything was pretty much the same ??

I emailed them about this and their reply was "We have not tested an PCV on an 2008 model. We have no support if you install a PCV on the 2008 quad." But I imagine that it would work fine. I don't know of too many differences between the 08 and 09's especially changes dealing with the F.I.

yeah , i know. There are no changes that i know of externally.. but with F.I. it wouldnt take much to have something not work right, I think im going to wait to see what someother people find out before i would go and buy the set up. it seems like it would work awesome, if it works on the 08s

I know it would suck !! i dont see why they would do that ..

The benefit of a PC V is that when run with an Auto Tune system, when you start your quad, it will automatically adjust your fuel map so it always running perfectt !!

Basically like an o2 sensor in a car.

Unless you mod your head pipe for an o2 sensor, you won't be able to use the auto tune kit. I'm pretty sure it's only available for bikes that come with a factory o2 sensor.

so would that be the differnce as to wh they are not making the PC V doe the 08 models .. cause the 09 model comes factory with the O2 sensor ?

i would think if they are putting 02 sensors on the 09 then they have changed their efi around quite a bit. wouldnt they have stated that on their press release??

The 08 and 09 have the same exact efi system. What ever works on the 09 will work on the 08. The only difference is minor frame changes. As for the autotune kit it work just fine you would just have to weld a bung into the headpipe for the 02 sensor to plug into.

so does the 09 have a bung for an 02 sensor? if thats the case wont the aftermarket guys be making headpipes for them?

Why would the 09 have a bung for the o2 sensor. They dont come with an o2 sensor therefore no reason for the bung. Like i stated, there are no difference between the 08 and 09 except minor frame changes. You dont need any special headpipe, you just take your current pipe to any local welder and have the bung welded in.

so the 02 sensor is strictly from power commander?

I think the 08&09 kawi ecu base maps are different

for you to weld the bung in for the O2 sensor, not any welder can weld it, cause to weld on titanium do you not need to run gases and stuff through the pipe as you weld it ,, or i atleast i heard about something like this, maybe they were wrong ?

I'm waiting to see how this deal goes before I buy anything.

To me, this sort of system makes sense.
Just do the mods and let the FI do it's own thing...
