View Full Version : Fuel foaming in the whoops with a PJ Carb?

Guys, at my track, almost every time I hit the whoops and keep the throttle pinned through them, after I get about half to 3/4 of the way through the section the motor starts cutting out on the very topend like its running out of gas. It sort of kills the rhythm and you can't stay on top. But on the big long straights and sweepers it doesn't ever do it, so its got to be something to do with the bouncing. I've heard that this was one of the main reason and benefits to upgrading to the PWK series. I've got a 38mm airstriker but its on another machine right now and I just want to hear from someone else other then the back of my head that if I take the time to take it off and re-dial it in for this motor that its worth it.

ATC500x,
pull the bowl of that PJ and see if the plastic thing they come with around the main jet is still there, this part prevents fuel foaming
this part also falls out of the PJ, this is a built in part on the pwk carbs all my bikes have pwk's
if yours is gone look it up on a honda micro fich and order a new one that should fix your problem.

Didn't Boyessen make a float bowl that prevented bogging thru the whoops?

good suggestion.......... another thing you may want to do is varify the float level. make sure that it isnt set toooo low and another thing is to make sure that you are getting 100% flow from the tank. hope this lil tid bit helps ya.
