my oil is turning black after bout three or four hours of run time.is this normal? im using maxim oil 20-50

How black are we talkin???? I change my oil after every two races(3 hours total) and it comes out clean. A light brown tint to it. I use Motul.

not completely black,but dark.

Try running 10-40 and see how that turns out.

Ive been told before that its a good thing because the new oils cleaning the engine out.

Is it a bit tired? does it use any oil? does it run hot?

Black within a few hours is usually blowby the piston rings.....

Gray or whitish can be water entry (somehow...) and or aluminum clutch plates disintegrating FAST!

Usually the oil filter and screen tell the whole story :D
