of course. traction is the only advantage the 450r has, and if your gearing is correct a 250r is just as good..

Sounds like an ftz hybrid. I've heard they run pretty strong.

A 250R can definatlyrun with a 450. My brother had a 450, it ran great.....well he then went on and spent $1500 on just his top end. He was bragging on how he could "smoke me". All I had was a 250, bored to a 261cc, stock reeds, 36pwk, K&N filter, ans a very mild MX port job. I said all that to say this, I told him let me spend $1500 on my top end, then we'll see what happens.

Yea, I've got beat'n by some 450's, but I've also out-run some too. jcs003 said it right...traction!! Get that thing to hook, and it'll run with the best of them. Just my 2cents.......

yea they're strong as hell. i've seen a stock bore setup kit 54 on a dyno but it was mostly a hi ended engine, built for the big dunes.

i have two friends who were running the hybrid cylinders. they run a top end port and were developed before the power valves were. they are fast for what they are but if you want banshee power buy a banshee. they have to weld and rework the cases to fit the cylinder.you would better off buying or building a power valve motor. as far as a 250r beating a 450, i don't think there are to many that are running on gas that will out run a a 60 hp 450. my 330 motors are still getting out hp d by the best built 450s. my motors were built by professionals and are set up for a usable power. if i had a top end port they would show more hp and might out run them down the straits but would be of no use on the tt tracks. so it depends what you want it for. in drag trim maybe, all around motor not so much. just my thoughts. but then again who am i to say?:bandit:

It would be used for mx . What would the best mx setup for the 250R. I know a lot of British pro's run full Laegers with PEP shocks.

i race in the scottish championship, have a full roll design lobo 250r chassis with peps ,handles amazing,my brother has a full laegers protrax banshee with elkas handles excellent too,i would think most after market chassis would be good as for the suspension the elka elites have more adjustment than my peps( high and low speed compression)but both are great
