Starter?

Ive got an 07 dvx. it runs if i pop start it but the electric start wont work. at first i had to push the button a few times to get it to work but now ive got nothing. no clicking buzzing or any kind of sound. is it the solenoid or the starter that needs to be replaced? or possibly something else?

very rarely its the starter.you should open the casing on the handlebars and clean the connections very well.then check battery cables,ground wire?

Check your start button contacts. I betcha they are dirty. I had the Cat and the z400 do that to me.

i seen one that melted the starter button ,best to replace the starter button with a kill /start button

I had to replace my starter. At first I could get it to start if I held the button down and stomped on one of the foot pegs! Eventually I just had to replace the starter.

thanks guys ill check the start button. the renthals i put on are just a little bit bigger than the stockers so there is a small gap in the casing. Thats probably it.
