400ex Axle in 250r

i know a 400ex axle will fit a 250r if u use the 400ex wheel hubs, what i don't know is if the 250r locknut will fit a 400 axle or not? or do i need a 400 nut (splines different or same?)

I once had a 400 with a rpm axle,i used an anti fade hub from a 250r. I did'nt have a rear brake set up on the bike so not sure if everything will line up.

I'm pretty sure the bearing carriers are identical so i think if i used the 250r brake stay bracket and get me a 250r anti fade/hub i'll be good to go, just needed to make sure the splines were the same where the brake hub slides on.

yes the splines are the same.
