Ok I'll try to have this make sense for you. I have and 86 short rod motor thats .080 with no port work done and stock carb. It went lean and poped a hole in the piston. I want it faster and my brother is selling his 87? 250r he was told that it was a 295. His headgasket was leaking so pulled the head and found out the bore is 72mm witch should be a 293 or 295 right? The jug has DHP written on it. Any one hear of them before? There is also no spacer plate on it. What I want to do is to take his piston and cylinder and put it on my short rod motor. The LA 295-310 sleave kits use the 86 piston right? So he has a short rod engine right? Or does anyone make an 72mm 87-89 piston? If it was an long rod engine with the 86 piston it would need the spacer right? Also are all the cylinders interchangable? Is 87-89 the same with 86 just being the odd ball. The pistons says J35L7 on the top also can you tell me what carb this is? It is a Keihin pwk and says 72RA3 LK on the right side? Thanks so much for any info

Check out this link on ebay. This guy sells the whole kit and pistons for the kit. He's a good guy and a lot of help. I'm sure he could answer any of your questions. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TRX250R-Big-Bore-250R-ATC-TRX-Fourtrax-295-310-Honda_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713Q2em153Q2el12 62QQcategoryZ43977QQihZ015QQitemZ250360264498QQtcZ photo

I have a used but in good condition LA sleeve piston 72.20mm just throw some rings on it and your good to go. It comes with rings but I would get new ones. Let me know if your interested in it. I will let it go for a good price.

By the way it was used in a 86 style cylinder so you would need a spacer if your going to use an 87-89 rod.

Ok I dont want to buy anything right now. My bro only wants 1,500 for his whole quad. So I want to pull some parts off it and then resell it with my .080 over cylinder and stock carb. So I just want to find out if I can use his jug/piston in my short rod motor. thanks

My quad was built from the frame up over 13k in parts I dont want a 22 year old trans and bearings it would be much easer to just swap top ends but my brother does not want me to pull the jug or reeds off his quad. If I had 2k still sitting around I would just buy the LRD 295pv kit or use the 800rotax pv cylinder Thanks much
