Throttle cable problem!

So i buy a new Motion Pro throttle cable for my 88 w the stock PJ, get it put on and now i have MEGA slop! and it won't go WOT.

I have the cable adjusted all the way out and she still needs more? with it adjusted all the way out i have 1/2" or more lever play b4 it pulls the slide. What a bummer, the old cable is bout shot but i guess i'll be puttin it back on.

Anyone else have this problem? something i'm missing?

What cable do u guys use?

Can i shorten the cable? can i get a crimpable end of some sort if i did hack it off ?

For the stock carb and 36mm PJ I always use an OEM cable. I have a almost new one if your interested.

do the threads look ok where it screws in the housing?
my factory cable is kinda fubar'd there.

The threads are mint...It only has maybe 5 hours on it. I took it off when I switch to a 39mm carb. Shoot me an offer.
