what's everyone's opinion of apparel? race style- freeride style-best features, brands, etc. pros/cons

looking to possibly change and buy freeride lbz pants or something similar. are they good for xc riding?

Freeride pants are great for XC they stop your boots from being funnels when your riding in water and mud.

FREESTYLE: any shift squadron pant or jersey. they have a zipper so you can turn em into shorts. and the jersey is 3/4 sleeve for flexibilty. you want anything baggy for freestyle.

RACE: you want somthing tighter. anything besides shift squadron (camo). fox, thor, etc.

FREERIDE: depends what your more comfy in. but somthing more baggy i prefer for freeriding

I perfer o neal for anything. I see alot of pro riders use them and they are farley cheep compared to other names like Thor. You can get combo packs or some stuff like that full of all oneal gear (jersey, pants, gloves, boots ) for only $220. correct me if im wrong

I know what you mean with the helmets. I like O neal gear like I said but I would never by a Helmet from them. HJC is a really comfortable and good helmet, pricy but worth it.

Thats one thing I don't understand is how a jersey could be crap. Its basicly the same stuff material but I don't really know. If its not O neal then its definitly gonna be THOR! How are O neal boots by the way?

I love shift gear......i've never worn anything but except for before shift came out with chest protectors, i used a fox one then.

anyhoo...i used to run baggy pants and i like them a lot but i had to tuck one side in because my pipe would burn my pants.....then i switched to the tighter pants and now i love them. I still dig the baggy pants but they don't work well in my case.

I SAY SHIFT ALL THE WAY.......and wear what your comfortable with...for some it's baggy pants, for others, its tight.....for a few....it's none, but hey whatever suits your style.
