Brake Fluid

I need to add some brake fluid, what kind do i use. I don't know what is in there now, so dose this mean i have to drain the old stuff out. If i do how do i get the old fluid out?

i cant remember what kind but it says on the cap. you dont have to drain the old stuff out but you might want to cause you dont know whats in there right now.
