kick it over dead 3-4 times, then put your teather in your kill switch, make sure your in nuetral, find top center with the kickstart, pull the choke, give it a hold about 1/8 throttle and give it a swift kick, mine fires up everytime.....

you can also go up on your pilot jet to a 52 and itll also make it easier to start.

First thing i would do honestly is adjust your valves. The crf's are very easy starting engines when the vavles are kept in good shape and the carb. setup is in the right ballpark.

Thank you

Personally I would never hold the throttle open when starting your CRF or any 4 stroke for that matter . For cold starts 1st start of the day
1 Turn your gas on
2 Put on the choke
3 Give it 2-3 pumps on the throttle
4 Find TDC
4 At TDC kick a solid kick all the way through
5 Should fire right up if everything is in spec

my $ .02

If mine has been sitting for more than a few weeks, I'll open the petcock, snap open the carb a few times, pull out the choke and it'll usually fire on the 3rd or 4th kick.
