i have not tried that particular one but i have advanced the timing. i could tell a little difference. but then again it takes a huge differnce for me to tell. Worth it if you have everything else. pipe, reeds, carb, porting, stroker, big bore. other wise get the other stuff first.

I have a sparks pipe, v force reeds, 38 mm air stryker, 310 cylinder. I am looking to do something to the ignition next.

Yes!

I've got one in my 310cc soon to be 330cc big bore.

My Ignition is an '86 which is 19degrees BTDC factory so I ran it with +3 degrees advance.

'87-89 Ignitions are 21 degrees BTDC so they don't need much.

It depends on the fuel you're burning too!

Are you running Pump gas or Race fuel 108octane+ ?

I didn't gain any H.P. when I dyno'd my quad....but it made the same H.P. longer from 7200-8000 rpm.

It made starting easier too!

Always first kick!

I'd say it's well worth the price.

Just be very careful.....too much advance and you'll blow a hole in the top of your piston.

i have the cr ign i picked up 7 hp on the dyno by advanceing it about 7 degrees

heres a dyno sheet of the 2 differnces you can see the 2 there are pros and cons to either way

looks like you lost a lil' torque with the CR ignition.

thats a cr on both runs the higher hp is with it advanced

mine is a 89. I do a lot of woods riding and mx racing. Will the timing advance help me with my type of riding or is it more for drag quads. I run a 50/50 mix of 93 and 110 octane. My compression is around 185. I am currently having my cylinder bored to 73mm. It was 72.5 mm and the compression was 182 so I'm expecting the compression to go up a little with the fresh bore and piston.

by advancing your timing even by as lil as 3 degrees, you can add more fuel....more fuel = more power
