Will the carb, boot and airbox bolt on to an 05 from a 07? What all is needed for a clean conversion? Thanks

no it will not bolt on... u will need an adaptor boot/flange from head to carb... and the mounting tabs on the airbox are different.

you dont need an adapter from the carb to head.

but the best way to do it is buy a dasa or noss machine adapter for the 05 airbox. and expoxy that to the carb and stick it in. and wire your tps and your good.

Agree'd

The 06+ air box on an 05 is a ghetto rigged fit.

I'm talking a stock 06 air box.
Which still fits no doubt, but its a pita.

if i had a 07 i would probably put on either a RAT or a Noss ,ditch the air box and use this boot ,its less than $40 new and can be shortend even more that what we did .

it would be cool to know what boot it is

that boot is off a DS650 , its had a bout 3'' cut off of it ,and if you wanted to you could cut some off the big end ,that is if you would rather use a 3'' filter .
i will be tiring one on a ltz but ya can not cut the small end off ,it needs the turn down on the end to get it to hook up .
on a 450 r its sweet , go's from 4'' to 2 1/4 in about 9''

painted it black ,screwed it to the frame and its good to go.
for now its using the ds filter tho there are other options

thats a good point ,if we were using the monster filter that i would like to have then some thing on the end of the filter would be a good idea.
this setup is for a drager ,not many bumps to contend with in drag racing
