Just wondering. I have a 2.2L 1998 S10.

I took it to a shop and the exhaust manifold is cracked. Does anybody know how hard it is to change one?

Also they told me it would be 450 to replace!!!! I can't seem to accept this.

Any input?

Use PBR Blaster! Soak all the nuts and bolts involved with the repair! Did that to my Grand Cherokee and had none of the usual problems of snapping **** that was rusted! I soaked'em overnight!

we just did the manifold on my 92 ranger, save urself the trouble, cut the nuts off, and slide the manifold off, because if you try to just turn em off they will more then likely break(not fun), and they dont sieze in the motor, they sieze in the manifold, so once you have it off, you can then put some vice-grips on the studs and take them out...worked for us, either ways its a project, and ur's is only a 98 so it might not be tht bad..

next to none...they're gutless b@stards...

.i have a 99 sonoma with an auto matic....and i swear one of my farm tractors has more power...

..with a stick they're ok...still nothing great either tho

..if your gonna replace the exhaust manifold...your gonna have to take out a bunch of ****..working on those 2.2's is horrible...everything is so crammed together in therer..

thats why they want so much for the repair..

its jsut a pain

Not really a lot. I mean it's not a racing truck or anything. Mine is a 5 speed. On hot pavement I can chirp second and third gear. I can dump 1st and 2nd and do burnouts. Little over 14 seconds from 0-60

Ah I don't have the time or the tools to do it. I am just having this shop do it. It's just $450 that I can't put into my quad I guess.
