Late models..... come on, not as fun to watch as sprints.

the late models and modifieds are a better show if your there to see driving. theres just more effort required because the fast guys don't always qualify fast and you get to see some real racing. the sprints tend to have the fast quys for the weekend start up front and all you see is 2 maybe 3 or 4 car battle. not like a modified show where you can watch kenny tremont show up late and go from 23rd to 2nd battling for the lead in 20 laps. plus the mods he posted are IMCA mods not DIRT mods, the DIRT cars are much faster.

Well where Im from they flip on how they do the starts, either strait up or inverted. Inverted you get some rookies up front, makes it interesting for sure. Good drivers get points for making passes and rookies cause wrecks.

we only get the outlaw series, so the slow guys either just barely make the main through heats or race there way in from the b main. never seems to be an interesting race because the first 2 or 3 guys just run away from the pack. the mod race that i posted any of those cars you can see on the restart has won a feature in the past few years so its real fun racing to watch. gotta love the run what ya brung shows for the mods to

a race i hit on vaca a couple summers ago, this is TIGHT track and they put em 3 wide sometimes.

watching the late models and the modifieds isnt all that exciting.. i have 4 tracks with in an hour of where i live, they all run mods, late models, adn sprints, and the sprints definitally bring in the better show....and its not alwasy teh same guy winning week in adn week out..they do alot with qualify and heat inversions to keep the sprints from having the same winners.... the point seasons have wrapped up around here and it was probably some of the closest that i have seen at each track. there were a bunch of new guys that got feature wins to...

now the mods and late models around here....you can see the same guys, win, week in, adn week out. friday night they'll win at one track adn then go to the some where saturday and win there, adn then repeat sunday....sure the car count is alot more with latemodels and mods, but you also dont have to spend over $40k to have a competitive car like you do witha sprint car...

plus....those two divisions wreck to damn much if you ask me...theres no reason to have 10-15 cautions in a 25 lap feature, and make it go for 45 minutes...

all the tracks around here have some pretty competitive pro stock classes, adn those get pretty fun to watch... those are some real grass roots guys

I actually like watching them both, here in Central NY there are a ton of great modified drivers and the same does not win every week. There is a series that covers the whole east coast but mainly does the races here in NY, just like the WoO series (but nationwide). Check out www.dirtmotorsports.com

your link takes us to world racing groups outlaw page...not sure the connection?

we get a bunch of different serieses around here to come in...WoO sprints, WoO late models....USAC sprints..USAC silver crowns...ASCOC sprints and 360 sprints....FASTRAK, UFO, FASTRAK North East, BRP modified tour....so i guess we have alot more to see around here than most

you are thinking of the wrongggggg modifieds lol, i hope your talking about the imca mods because up here the DIRT (thats a series name lol) cars are spending 25-30k on engines alone. also most of the guys have multiple cars to run in the small block and big block divisions. i don't know where you live but if you can make it to one of the northern dirt tracks like albany-saratoga, fonda, lebanon valley take a trip out to one and let me know how the mods are ;). i do get where your coming from though, you guys can get the numbers with the sprints though we replace those with a better version of the modified up here.

just search names on youtube like billy decker, kenny tremont, brett hearn, andy bachetti, rich rickie jr, eddie marshall and those are the real modifieds.

no im not thinking of the wrong modifieds....cause we have severall different modified devisions around here...thats the gift of having multiple tracks

ya and you come down western pa/eastern ohio and watch some of the big block mods or lates or super lates down here...see some talent like robby blair or chub frank....and im not saying that there arent guys spending that much on modifieds....but a sprint car is significantly more expensive when your purchasing a new kistler motor for $50k....

and we also get the attendance with the sprints, late models, modifieds...big block adn emod as well......you can go any track on any night and see 20+ lates adn big blocks around here...friday, satruday adn sunday....

i jsut perfer sprints cause of how fast they go and i have several friends that have sprint setups....all devisions are as equally popular around here....we jsut have a good sprint scene

i guess its just the talent we end up with in the modifieds, most of the times the guys i watch on a regular old saturday are the front runners in the national points thats all. i've also seen guys like chub run a few times i used to make the trip to hagerstown regularly with my old man when i was younger.

we have a big sprint scene down our way...but the various different groups of modifieds make up most of the divisions down here...soem tracks will run two different sprint devisions....

i have no problem with the real anything it takes to win guys, if you work your *** off to make something work better then i've managed to or been creative enough to find something new that works real good i respect that its the guys who knowingly use illegal parts or drive/ride dirty and get away with it thats been buggin the hell out of me, i'd rather go fishin ya know
