I found a deal on a set of works shocks. They are set up for my weight (150-180) but not +2 a-arms. They will be used for play riding and some work on my MX track. But this isn't my main bike. How much will that affect the ride for me? A revalve and rebuild cost $250.
Or should since I weigh 165lbs, should I just get a set of stock 450r shocks and run them with my +2 a-arms, and get them revalved and reworked later??

Go with the works. 450r shocks were made for the 450r.

Yeah the other thing is will the works shocks add travel? I could send a set of 450r shocks to derisi racing and have them modified for 2" more travel. I want to have as much travel as possible. Cost I figure to be similar.

well thats what I was thinking....get my works shocks rebuilt by derisi or GT thunder or PEP and I would be good to go....but does anyone know about getting extra travel out of the 450r shocks??? 2" more travel would be sweet. Would the works shocks add travel??
