I have a 07 KFX700. I have added a HMF pipe, and am now wanting to upgrade the air filter, and add a jet kit? I have read many people have problems with jet kits, and ended up puttng the stock jets back in. Any suggestions which kit is the best, and which filter to use?

I'd stay away from the "DYNO JET KITS" just get some Kehin jets, do the 12hole mod to you airbox, and go with a twinair filter. pending on your ele. you sould be looking at sizes in the 175-185 range. Just get you self a few sizes you may need to try a couple differant setups.

I don't know what takes longer, tunnning the carbs or the clutchs on these things. I still haven't got mine perfect after 3 years of trying differant things.

Check out this site for for the V

I have now bought a K&N filter, but have done no mods to the airbox. I have been told to just go 3 sizes bigger on the jets. Does this sound right?

the K&N is a wast of money on the V, it flows no better then the stock filter. So you are not ganning any air flow to need to rejet for that.

You would be much better off, going with either the Twin Air or Uni filter and opening up that air box. With the HMF duels or any duels you relley need to get the air flow up to see any real differance in power.

I talked to HMF, and they Dyno'd it out to be a 145 in the front and a 147 in the rear with the airbox lid removed, or the 12 hole mod with a HMF slip on, and a K&N. This is with the air mix screws 2-1/2 turns out. Factory is a 135 in the front & a 140 in the rear, with the air screws at 1-1/2 turns out. I installed the jets, but when I remove the airbox lid, it falls on its face when I give it throttle. Does this mean that I need to run bigger jets? With the air box lid on, it runs just fine, but ther was hardly no diffrence in the performance.
