sounds like your hitting the rev limiter.

a 99 300ex has a rev limiter?... my dads foreman dosent

but at like 3/4 th throtle in 5th gear?

no you shouldnt be hitting the limiter at only 3/4 trottle. you may be looking at a carb problem.

with the pipe and jetting you have you may need to gear up. maybe your topping out because of them.just a thought.

i've been reading a few different carb manuals lately try to tune my bike and learned from 3/4 to full throtle is the main jet try goin up another jet size. What are you running now??

he wont need to gear it up or down with a pipe an jet kit. he can if he wants but gearing it up wont change the sputtering its somthing to do with the carb. maybe a plugged jet?
