hello, i was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the coil going bad. I have a 2006 ltr that i bought new. Everything was perfect up to about 6 months ago. it started sputtering and hesitating at low rpm such as 2nd gear putting along slow. once I get on it, its fine. Its will also on occation cut out when im hauling ***. just for a split second, then its right back. Ive done the normal stuff you would think it would be. New fuel filter, new plug, and plug cap, checked the valve clearance. Everythings good to go. This issue only starts happening after riding the bike for the good part of the day. It runs perfect, up untill somethin starts makin it do what i just explained. Theres no mods done to the bike exept cherry bomb and i removed the inners of the pipe. That was 3 yrs ago. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks, mike

with the regulator, did you have similar issues? And with the pump, will I have to tear the actual pump apart? thank you for the responses.

yea it would idle fine and run fine once and a while but it would start cuttin stuff like that and no you just take the four screws out the bottom of the pump and just pull the cover off and its right there you dont have to take it apart

My LTR was doing what sounds like the same thing. Turned out to be the stator.

This is a pretty dead thread but take the tank off and change your swirl tank filter, clean you regulator, change your plug and check your valves while your are down that far.
