Im a little bit big for the bike and I dont want to get rid of it so I was woundering about the 330 kit. Does anyone knoe first hand about the torch of the 330? I am also running a 12 tooth front sprocket and a stock rear. if anyone has anyother ideas please let me know.

what type of riding do ya do the most of? is the engine currently stock? there is plenty of power to be had from the smaller cc'd cylinders to pull you with out having to go with a big bore. unless your simply wanting to go that route.

It has after market pipe and silencer and carb. K&N filter and a fresh bottom end witch doesnt matter much. I live in AZ and do a lot of desert riding and go to the dunes as well.

i havent heard much feedback on them but ESR has new cylinder that is currently being offered for way less than their older designs. from what i've seen, the porting is very rough to say the least and imo would require an additional port by a reputable person such as neil here on the forum.

a 330 is a huge leap. if you dont even have a pipe on that stock cylinder do that first. then get a bigger carb and reeds. if you already have stuff on there and its not enough go with the 330. but get the machine 330 not the bolt on 330.

my new esr cylinder looks nothing like the one your talking about.you can see where they went in and cleaned everything very nicely so i wouldnt say if you get one that you would have to send it back off to someone else.i dont agree with eddie when he said to send it back and he'd clean it up for $150 because it should have already been cleaned.i dont know who did his cylinder.

because the bolt on 330 doesn't sit in the cases. The bottom of the sleeve is only big enough to fit into the spacer plate underneath it. Also, you can only 2 or 3 overbores before the cases won't fit the piston, after that you are left with an expensive paperweight. The bolt-on 330 requires a 87-89 rod and longer stud kit. With a normal top end, the sleeve goes into the cases ~2", making it stronger and less prone to cylinder shifting, that can lead to stuck pistons or gouging of the cylinder walls.

I had one from Esr, 5 years ago. It was bought probably 6 years ago. I don't know if they still sell it. I was actually not very good. I ran that for some months, I had overheating problems, constantly had to play with jetting to make it run right, blew 2 sets of crank seals, 1 set of base gaskets and had to overbore it once. I put my stock ported top end back on and was very happy. The 330 did have alot of torque for a 2 stroke, it made most of its power down low. I later bought a lrd 295pv and that kicked the 330 and stock ported top end's ***. I rode it once with the stock swingarm and it was uncontrollable, I had to get a +1 quickly.

I wouldn't get a 330 bolt-on, I would consider a true 330 for a woods motor. If you do buy a esr top end, just get a cast unported one and send it to c-leigh for porting. He does amazing stuff, I rode one of his motors before and after he ported it, huge difference.
