engine case crack

I was looking through my engine and notice these cracks. Pretty sure they are surface cracks but am wonder if they are anything to worry about.

They could just be cracks from the paint or coat of whatever they put on these engines.

The center cases arent painted

Normal heat cracks are well.....normal....but those look a little excessive compared to what I normally see.

Try cleaning it real good so we can get a better look

Those arnt cracks just casting flaws... anything made from cast aluminum will have that its normal.

X2. casting flaws. they are not cracks.

Take a closer look at pic#2 It indeed is a casting flaw, but now has aluminum flaking away and its running towards the bolt.

I just hope it doesnt die on me anytime in the year!

yah i took mine to the shop cause i seen the same too and they said it was just from the casting too........guess they didn't care too much about the 400ex:(
