laeger narrow frame is light, and jumps the best, but the narrow frame causes it to roll in the corner more than the wide frame (laeger also made in stock 250r width, handles best in my opinion).

roll design handles good, jumps well, but is heavy, and not as much wheel travel in the rear.

walsh produced several rear linkage setups, cr500, crf450, etc. all jumped and handled well, but heaver than a laeger.

Why is the Walsh setup heavier? Is it stronger? Is the wall thickness greater than that of the laegers or the lobo setup?

if you take a piece of 4130 chromoly tubing the same thickness, as a piece of mild steal tubing (like most stock frames) the chromoly is 5 time stronger than the mild steel. laeger, walsh, lone star, and roll used chromoly to build there frames.

from my experience with roll, walsh, and laeger, roll was the heaviest, then walsh, and laeger is the lightest. everyone of them can and will break.

laeger is the only company that made a true complete front system, with there own spindles, not using 250r or 400ex stock spindles. in 16 years of riding laeger protrax front systems i never broke a spindle, i seen one break, but i don't know the history behind that front end.

hope this helps!!!!

5 times stronger? I don't think that is right. When 4130 is in its non-heat treated form, it is roughly the same strength as mild steel. When 4130 is heat-treated (to the point where it is stonger than it was but not brittle to the point where it will always crack), it is only 50% stronger than it was.

let me put it this way, chromoly has a lot better memory, if flexed it returns to it original shape 5 times better. ever time u jump it flexs.
