I heard some people having trouble mounting these. I want to know whats entailed before I pick up a set.

Anybody got these with carbon fiber shrouds?

I know for sure the OMF shrouds wont work .

Why do LSR frames have so much trouble mounting things? It seems like alot if not everybody has trouble mounting something on a LSR frame, you would think they would fix it, i would think that theyre only off by a fraction of an inch and wouldnt be hard to fix. I dunno im just thinking out loud, i am in the market for an aftermarket frame and from what ive heard about LSR frames it makes me not want to get one.

Thanks,
Mike

My chassis is a 2005 LSR Baja Series! Everything bolted right on! No problems!

Rich250RRacer would be the one to ask. Seems like I've heard him say the earlier frames didn't have the tighter tolerances like the newer ones do. I think he owns several different year LSR's, so he has first hand experience.

I have a '98 LSR chassis and everything bolted up just fine... including my OMF shrouds!

Don't know how yours could be that much different or that far off?:huh

My '01 was a real pain in the *****. There were lots of modifications that had to be made. But the shrouds weren't bad, I had to elongate one of the mounting holes.

I picked up a lot of information recently about aftermarket frames.

Every single frame can be different depending on a lot of factors including who did the welding, how the welding was done, jig setup etc.

By the sounds of it, it takes a very experienced frame builder to get everything right. Thousandths of and inch out can turn into much more by the time everything is complete.
