Black Spark Plug

Hello to all this is my first post and i am new to the atv scene. I just pulled the spark plug out of my 99 400ex and it is solid black but has no build up. The quad came from south dakota so i dont know what it was set up to run. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The plug is a ngk dpr5ea with a 9 underneath. Also if anyone could steer me in the right direction for a owners manual, Thanks in advance.

I believe thats the wrong spark plug. Get a DPR-8Z

im thinkin wrong plug also, it should be a NGK-DPR8Z or a DP9EA(runs about 5 degrees colder), hope this helps

for an owners manual get a clymer. you can do pretty much anything with one.
