View Full Version : 400ex wont start when warm

bike will start fine when you first go start it, after you ride it and it warms up the starter just spins but the motor wont turn over, bad starter? any ideas.

My guess is valves. Mine did that too, would run great then just fall on it face. Wait like 5 mins starts and idles fine. I just got kibblewhite springs and valves and it solved it for the most part. Im thinking i need to adjust my carb....seems like its overheating..

valves are good. starter wont engage for some reason. i guess its just a bad starter. idk

sounds like you need a new starter clutch. i just replaced mine after the same symptoms. eventually it will stop turning the engine over completely.

sounds like either the starter or the one way bearing thats behind the flywheel........by the way pipeless that 400ex that u got bored out to a v8, that thing must be a beast. i wanna get mine done. im thinkin of gettin mine done in diesel though.
