that is pritty much going to be a cut the frame into three section use the front end and stem mount and the rear swingarm pivot bolt mount and rear shock mount. then fabing new frame rails for that motor. its going to be a veary complicated build

You might as well build a new frame as there will be absolutely no room for that motor in an R frame. Your best bet would be a Raptor 660 or 700 frame.

I've seen this mod done to a 400ex frame several times and even that doesn't have enough room for it.

Hi, I just thought I'd let you know I finally got mine done... Well redone. I was at sand lake a few years back just after I got it done and I was fixing the bugs. Unfortunately the motor was an eBay motor and started to knock, BUT I finally got it back together and painted. Green, but haven’t gotten the new plastic yet, Thinking black, I’m rolling white now, with a red hood. We jokingly call it the x-mas bike, 8-) BUT Its possible and a REAL PAIN. I’d be happy to answer questions about it, but if I were to do it again Id make my own frame.
Its frame is cut virtually in half and widened, but stays the same length and height. AND this is a biggie, just get a donor bike. The big pars are straight forward, but the little stuff nickel and dimes you. ... Well Ill post some pics just to show it can be done. This is before some "pretty-ing up"
IE elca's and more paint, Fatty rear sprocket, ect Ill post some more tomorrow.
Thx Virgil @ hybridtoys

Would you want to butcher a frame??
Just to have a motor thats going to crack all the welds anyway??
I understand the whole hybrid aspect of it and everyone wants to be different but unless you have some incredible fabrication skills you are better off running an R motor in an R frame.

Here in Oregon i see backyard hack job "hybrids" all the time, most of them sitting on Craigslist for years and years.

dont hack up an R frame, if your gonna cut a frame up do a 400ex chassis

try a yamaha warrior frame. they are long, wide and strong. plus, you can get them very cheap.

To all you naysayers, the reason you are even riding quad is because someone thought out of the box. At one point in time making a quad was seen as stupid, now look where we're at. He didn't ask what you thought, he asked how. He must just not be happy with what's currently available so he's doing something about it.

^^^ must be your time of the month!! LOL i threw my opinion in there cuz all the roket motors in frames (other than a ds650 frame) looks hacked up and turns out lookin like crap... it is a sweet idea though
