hey that brings me back I was riding 3 wheeler from the beginning almost started in 1975, the one thing I liked about the 3 wheelers is they seperated the men from the boys, you could not just go buy a 400 and ride well, they taught you to watch the trail concentrate or get spanked hard . but once you got the knack of the body english they were awesome, one of my favorite bikes was my 0ld 250r think it was a 1983 had flat track tires and would rev to the moon, recall leaning down near tank and sliding thru corners wide open, and the bonus was they taught ,no forced you proper leaning when I got my, 4 wheeler I could ride so hard thru corners and trails from the balance the atc taught me, still today on off camber turns and tech stuff my buddies tend to roll while I just breeze thru! check my sig for the prevois rides later and have a merry christmas!

I had 3 85's, and I pretty much rode them dunes only. I'll never go back after a quad, so much work with a atc on the dunes, pretty damn fast tho.

I know exactly what you are saying, I started on quads , and they first time i got on a trike it was a little weird, but i got used to it, now I can fly through the woods on em faster than most people on quads.
I prefer trikes really its just since they don't make them anymore it costs so much to keep them running.

i can haul tru corners when its runnin...when i first got it i coulnd jump wit out wreckin but one thing it gave me was sum upper body strength. I dunno bout u guys but i think it takes a lot of upper body strength to land my tri z cuz when u land it just jerks my wheel...its alot of fun tho

it sure is nice to see some 3 wheeler pics. and they do make you a better rider on a quad. i have owned 2 82' atc 185s'(no suspension) i rode them when i was 12-13 everyday after school. friends had tecate 3's and 350x's. and yes i used to jump those 185s' all the time!:D miss those days.......... but love the suspension on my 400ex!

Yeah maybe,,,,but i didnt want to be greedy.........i mean i only had 1900 in it anyway i think.

Now my ATC 250R on the other hand would have to go for more than anybody would want to payfor an "old" ATC:D

Threewheelers are a lot of fun. You can't jump them as big as a quad, or go as fast on them, but they are still a blast to ride.

A friend of mine came to visit a couple weeks ago and we went riding. I let him ride my Banshee and I took my '86 250R. I live near the Mississippi and it is frozen over (mostly). We rode down the edge of the river until I fell through the ice. Once we got the trike back onto the top, we high-tailed it back home. I was going as fast as I could because I didn't want to fall through again, and I was cold. I hit a 12" high chunk of frozen mud with the front tire. Luckily, I didn't crash, but it bent the front rim so bad the tire went flat. I jammed my wrist and ankle pretty bad, and when I jumped off the machine to inspect the damage, my foot went through the ice again up to my thigh in Loon *****... Of course, with one flat tire on ice the wheel does not turn, so it was very hard to steer to get back to the trail off the river. We made it though, and my friend never went through at all, which is a good thing cuz the Banshee is a heavy slug.

I told my brother-in-law about the adventure and he was like "what were you doing riding a threewheeler when you could have been riding one of the quads?! I told him the threewheelers are just more fun. Besides, not many people can (or want to) ride them.

Here is a picture of the '86 from last July:
