Kill switch confusion

I have done these a million times but can't figure this one out...I have a Tusk kill switch...installing on a 2008 Z90...it says to cut one of the wires and connect one end of the wire coming from the kill switch to one end of the cut wires and do the same for the other cut wire...the problem is the quad starts and runs with the tether out and when I put the tether in it kills it...so basically it is working but backwards....any suggestions???

You have a normally open position kill switch when you need a normally closed position switch.

Cut ground wire instead of hot with this style switch.Install same as above but on ground leg. Hope this helps...
