I know posting this here will probably get me a lot of biased opinions but whatever. I was looking at the Outlaw's styling since so many people have commented on the XX looking cheap and ugly. I personally love the way my XX looks and so do my friends. I looked at the 09' Outlaw on polaris's web page and the thing is FUGLY. You have to see this thing, they took some bad ideas and went extreme with them. GOO!

I like the looks. Plus having dual rate Fox shocks with compression in the rear, stainless steel brakelines, hydraulic clutch, and a 389lb dry weight is a sweet package. But the 700xx isn't that bad either.:D

That is a for sure sweet package! I love the outlaw just not the new look. If you have the opportunity to ride a XX try it out. The machine is heavy on paper but riding it isn't bad at all! We should find someone to dyno the two quads stock and do a power to weight ratio challenge.

I know I've seen many dyno's of the Outlaw and they range between 40-42 rwhp. Depends on dyno. I believe I saw the 700xx dyno about the same or a bit higher, but don't remember what it was. As far as trying one out. No one in my area has one. My dealer is still sitting on the one he got back in Sep. He even has a price of $5400 on it, but still has it. If I knew I could keep it in stock width for XC racing without costing a fortune on tires and wheels. I would give it a try. But from what I have read so far, the 700xx makes a real nice trail quad, but it's not up for XC racing yet. In fact Allterrian mag just gave the Outlaw IRS best in class for trails over the 700xx.:D

I'd believe it, outlaw is a nice quad. Too bad they haven't gone EFI yet. The honda has been owning in the baja from what i hear but thats just hear say. Let me know if you find a web page with actual dyno numbers and we'll do the power/weight ratio challenge. As for magazines I dont really listen to them, I like to listen to people here. I've watched videos on the XX and they had specs wrong which makes me lose faith in what they have to say. Such as saying the XX is 505 dry when actually it is 505 soaking wet ready to ride. Someone on here posted the XX putting out a potent 52 hp at the crank but I dont know if thats true. We'll have to see, someone will catch on and do the testing eventually.

its documented the 700 puts out 53hp at the crank. thats not to the wheels.

the 700xx won 1st and 3rd place in the last baja, the trx 450r was 2nd.

the dealer up here had 3 of them, sold them all as soon as they got them. 3 months later one of the guys traded his in for a sled, so i picked it up slightly used for $5500 OTD canadian.

$5500 is unreal for a used one. I'm being offered $9000.00 for mine on a trade in.

i couldnt believe the price either. the dealer posted it on kijiji. 10 minutes later, i had the dealership on the phone and it was sold lol. deals like that dont last long.
they told me come spring, they would've put the price at 6900. winter isn't a good time to sell up here.

Personally, I like the looks of both of them. I lean a little towards the 09 outlaw. I like the look with a yfz quadtech hood.

Leftover 08s in my area are $4999:confused:

Are there big differences between them and 09s?

No worries, go for the 08' if the price is that low! There are very MINOR differences between the 08' and 09'. Here is Honda's link where you can click on the 08' or 09' and look at the differences under the specifications. I believe some of the dementions are very different in a MINOR way.
