i have a crf450 in my 250r frame will a trx450 shift shaft fit the crf450r motor i noticed the trx is longer

Yes it will fit, a buddy of mine did it and its sticks out alot farther.

can i get more info on this like if there is a certain year shaft you need or anything

I'm interested also, I don't like the position of the shifter. I had to heat and bend a aftermarket shifter to get a position that was comfortable for me.

Im not 100% but im pretty sure that he used an 06 because the motors are very similar in the newer years.

you might be right i used a 06 trx water pump on my 07 crf

Yes he did that also, you just have to figure out a clever way to block the little vent without making it look hideous lol.
