2000 300ex

i'm looking at getting a 2003 300ex thats bone stock,garage kept,riden very little and in beautiful condition from what i've seen in the pics of it.it's been maintained and kept up on a regular basis. what should i look for as far as problems or issues with it.thanks

check the oil out. it should be set though from what you described.

well i got it today. it is a 2003 300ex with a full dg pipe and header and jet kit. it needs a front bumper.plastics are faded but no breaks in them. runs good,idles good,no smoke ect. so far so good. has a little hesatation until it warms up but i think that might just be the plug it's been sitting about 6 months.we put new gas in today before firing it up.

ok what size plug does this take?. is it 15mm? i don't have a spark plug wrench to fit it.

update. i'm an idiot lol. it is an 18mm plug wrench. the one for my yamaha fit it perfectly(why didn't i think of it before DUH lol). i cleaned the plug and the hesatation is gone now. i'll put in a new one anyways.

ha yea you def need a new bumper! i also have an 03' an i love the yellow/black combo. does anyone know if they made them yellow/black any other years than 03'?

needs a bath..turtle wax car wash works great on the plastic. i got a kit for my car for christmas and it also has wheel cleaner. those rims shined like never before when i was done.

hey what gas is everybody running?. i was told i need to run high test with the dg pipe and jet kit that on it. is this true?.
OH AND THAT BUMPER IS GONE NOW LOL.

well i cleaned it up a little. put in a new plug (hesatation is gone now),removed the push bar from hell lol. bumper and nerf bars are on the way.

that looks a lot better. yeah, if you're really riding it doesn't stay clean for long. when i got my quad, it was from a farm. i did some powerwashing and i'm still not done. i traded my 99 blaster for it because it wasn't approriate for where i ride mostly. anyway, i put all the mods in my sig into it except for the skid plates and itp front rims w/ the bandit tires. it is fun working on these things and making them into good running machines. about the cost, i bought the blaster for $600 and put over $1,100 into it, so technically i got my 300 for $1,700. i'll have to look into how much i put into this one so far.

well nothing against anybody but these things were meant to be riden. i've seen too many people spend the entire weekend cleaning and polishing there's only to get it dirty again and some are afraid to get it dirty after all that cleaning lol. i figure ride it,have fun,powerwash it then take the airhose to it and i'm done. ya i'll clean it real good once in a while but not everytime i take it out. i got a real good deal on this one it's trade in value is $1625 and retail is $2400 so i figure $800 is a great deal. i'd love to get a 400ex but i HAVE to have reverse lol. ya i'm old and lazy haha. it's all i need for now.

I know for sure they made them in yellow/black in '04 and '05. I have a yellow '04 and my friend has a yellow '05.
