What are the advatages of an aftermarket bearing carrier?
Also billet vs. cast.
I'm thinking about getting an aftermarket axle and would like to redo the whole thing, axle, hubs, locknut....but I don't want spend any extra money if I don't need to.
I ride in a variety of terrain...trails, dunes, small jumps...no real racing or big jumps yet:)

aftermarket ones are a lot stronger than stock, are lighter than stock and have at least twice the bearing surface than stock. i have the Herrmann racing billet double row bearing carrier. it's a very good inexpensive carrier. mine also has a lot more chain adjustment than the stock one. it rotates almost all the was around. i replaced mine because i broke the stock one, if your's isn't broke then i really wouldn't replace it.
